I often try to compose an image with just a few colours that look good together. Here it was easy to exclude everything except yellow and green. The composition is based on the implied crescent formed by the flowers. Technically the shot is not a total success. The smallest aperture I had available was f/16 and that didn't give enough depth of field to hold the petals of the top bloom in focus. I came back next day with my 105mm macro lens, but the flowers had already withered, and this view was no longer there.
